Day 1 - Death Valley
Today is a big day, so after picking everyone up we set out immediately for Death Valley. We'll do a short drive through the park to Badwater Basin, Artist's Palette and a couple of other sights before setting up camp. We'll prepare dinner as the temperature drops and the stars slowly appear, while the sky turns from bright blue to a deep black.
Day 2 - The Eastern Sierras
We'll start today with a quick breakfast and then head up towards Mammoth and Mono Lake. Today will be a varied day, with options like interesting geological formations, waterfalls, hot springs and ghost towns providing something of interest to almost everyone. Your group leader will discuss the various options with you the previous night so you'll have a chance to really make this adventure your own!
Day 3 - Upper Yosemite Park
After a delicious breakfast in camp we'll climb high into the Eastern Sierras to arrive at Tuolumne Meadows where you'll have a number hikes to choose from. In the late afternoon we'll head through the rest of the park before stopping for dinner and to set up our camp for the next 2 nights.
Day 4 - Lower Yosemite Park - Yosemite Valley
Today we spend the whole day in Yosemite Valley where you'll have a number of activities to choose from and a grocery store to stock up on snacks for the hikes. There are bike rentals available and hikes for everyone, from lazy strolls to all-out nearly vertical climbs. You'll have lots of time to explore before coming back to camp for dinner, a campfire and s'mores.
Day 5 - On to San Francisco!
On our last day together, we'll spend the morning in Yosemite Valley, visit the Sequoia Grove, and then head for San Francisco. You'll arrive in time for dinner with time left over for a night out on Broadway or in the Castro, the choice and the night are yours!
While this journey ends today, the city of San Francisco offers you almost unlimited ways to continue the adventure!
