After picking everyone up in Los Angeles, we head towards Joshua Tree National Park, where we will be camping for the night. We'll stop for groceries on the way, and arrive early in the afternoon. There are great bouldering/rock climbing opportunities here, a number of hikes to abandoned mining operations, and great stargazing.
Days 2 & 3 - Grand Canyon National Park
Day 2 starts with breakfast in camp followed by a long drive to the Grand Canyon, arriving mid-late afternoon, just in time to set up camp and take a short hike before sunset.
Day 3 begins with a great breakfast followed by any number of activities: hiking, various tours of the Canyon (by mule and helicopter), or just a lazy day at camp. There are showers available at this campground, a grocery store and a restaurant.
Day 4 - Bryce Canyon National Park
Today we set out for Bryce Canyon, arriving mid-late afternoon. After setting up camp, there will be time for a short hike or shower before sunset. At an elevation of 8,000 feet, the canyon has amazing sunrises/sunsets and is unique because of it's red/pink/orange coloring and the fact that is was formed by freeze/frost cycles and not a river.
Day 5 - Zion National Park
We take a short drive to Zion this morning where we will have time to do a couple of hikes, and take a side trip for showers, before making camp in the park. There is a grocery store and a great cafe here in addition to one of the most amazing hikes in the southwest, Angel's Landing.
Day 6 - Las Vegas/Hot Springs
We have the morning in Zion, but need to leave around 11-12pm for the super secret thermal springs where we will spend the night camping and soaking in hot springs. We have an option for a short stop in Las Vegas.
Day 7 - Back to Los Angeles :(
Our last day starts with a lazy morning in camp or at the hot springs before leaving for LA. We arrive back in LA sometime between lunchtime and mid-afternoon. After your drop-off, you'll have time for a quick visit to Venice Beach, Griffith Observatory, or dinner and a show at one of the many venues in LA.
